Hi, my name is Julia and I am a Sydney-based female photographer originally from Warsaw, Poland. My main focus is capturing portraits, arts, events & film sets.
I am a creative soul, loving cinema, travel, and arts and always documenting my surroundings. My interests and background influence my practice, which strongly evolves around experimenting with light and vibrant colours. I aim to create beautiful and high-quality images that can tell a story.
I am professionally trained, with a Diploma of Photography and Photo Imaging, a Film Stills Photography course with Nicola Dove, photo courses at ANU with Marzena Wasikowska and an internship at a social media agency in Sydney. My training and past experiences enable me to work well in different lighting situations, understand project needs, edit images and respond well to briefs.
In 2021 I was a finalist of Martin Kantor Portrait Prize with a portrait of local playwright Sophia Davidson Gluyas exhibited at Ballarat Biennale and received a Highly Commended Award in the Open category for “United By Darkness” Portfolio by Australasia's Top Emerging Photographers by Capture Magazine.
Among my past clients are: Bus Stop Films, Comunicado, Palace Cinemas, Sign&Hear, Screen Vixens, Australian Screen Editors, Young Actors Assembly, PolArt Festival Sydney and many independent film productions in NSW.
I am open to variety photographic tasks and travel both interstate and overseas (with working rights in Australia and Europe & knowledge of Spanish, English and Polish, I am suitable for international projects).
Got a project in mind? Let’s chat!
-J.
